WORK GROUPS
Energy Traders Association (ETD) works on topics, that will be beneficial for not only its own members but also overall Turkish energy industry and economy, since its foundation. In this context, we conduct studies towards targetted criteria such as transparency, fair competition, increasing the liquidity and depth of energy market, and establishing trade conditions which has international standards. As well as determining problems, we consider to develop solution proposals, to share these proposals with all related market stakeholders and to project joint studies with correct parties.
ETD carries on all these studies through work groups, that are established and continues thanks to great altruism and care of our members. Work groups are formed according to trading and retail sales issues, which are regarded as main segments of power and gas trading field. In addition to being open to participation of all ETD members, the work groups are being empowered by contribution of other public or private stakeholders of the sector both in terms of attendance and joint task force groups when needed and is possible.
ETD Work Groups can be reshaped and classified in accordance with the necessities of members and progress of the market from term to term. Current four work groups are as follows:

The Electrical Trade Work Groups were established to study on organized and OTC markets, and the risk management at these main fields of energy trading
Coordinator of the Group is Mr. Armanç EKİNCİ, ETD Deputy Cairman and Enerjisa Elektrik Enerjisi Toptan Satış A.Ş. General Manager. The group targets to conduct studies mainly on;
- improving efficiency of spot physical markets under EPİAŞ (Energy Exchange – EXIST) and futures and derivative markets under Istanbul Exchange (BIST),
- facilitating and increasing trade on OTC market,
- creating possibilities to make risk management in all markets in more central and coordinated structure,
- generating solution proposals to overall problems about trade markets functioning,
- improving interest and knowledge of ETD members on trade markets and risk management

Retail Sales Work Group (RS) was established to study on retail sales market, which is the related field to consumers as the most important and final counterparty of energy industry activities.
Coordinator of the Group is Mr. Burak KUYAN, ETD Board Member and Dogan Energy General Manager. The group targets to conduct studies mainly on;
- improving functionality and efficiency of operational activites and generating solution proposals to actual problems,
- following changes in regulations, announcing the amendments to the members, analysing the effects of changes to the industry and preparing opinions about draft regulations,
- evaluating best practice examples and adaptation of appropriate ones to Turkish power market,
- analysing BT and technical infrastructure related to retail sale processes, and creating proposals to reach high standards.

Natural gas is used for almost half of the Turkey's power generation. Thereby it is one of the most important factors of the Power Market. This working group is established to use experiences which are possessed from development of Power Market, and to facilitate coordination and development of both markets.
Coordinator of the Group is Mr. Murat KİRAZLI, ETD Board Member and Aksa Aksen Enerji Ticaret A.Ş. General Manager. The group targets to conduct studies mainly on;
-following changes about new Natural Gas Market, and sharing our opinions with related partners about establishing free, fair, transparent, and liquid market ;
-preparing suggestions and opinions about solutions of current problems, and crucial steps which must be taken on Natural Gas Market;
-increasing natural gas trading on organized and OTC markets;
-improving interest and knowledge of ETD members about natural gas trading.

Stakeholder Management Work Group was established to plan and realize studies with the aim of representation of ETD in varios platforms, improvement of awareness about ETD, expression of opinions in more effective way, and empowerment of Members’ participation in studies and Association.
Coordinator of the Group is undertaken directly by Mr. Tamer ÇALIŞIR, ETD Chairman and Gama Emergy General Menegar. The group targets to conduct studies mainly on:
- carrying on continuous contact will all counterparties inside and outside energy industry including all state istitution and companies, and market participants.
- conducting studies to raise industrial awareness for ETD members and consumers,
- organizing activities such as trainings, conferences, panels and trips either on its own or in cooperation with other institutions and NGOs,
- planning and realizing activities to improve Memebers’ motivation and participation in studies of the Association.

Within the spoce of this working group in the energy market and keeping track of progress in digitisation is intended to be conducted for the impact studies on the market.
